Recent consultancy projects

The widespread range of present and previous clients include the United Nations, World Bank, OECD, DFID, Government of Sierra Leone, DANIDA and the Tunisian Government.

Our expertise and experience is diverse, both by discipline and by geography. There is no 'typical project' to which we contribute; each assignment is different, and each requires a different approach. IDD's varied portfolio of geographical experience includes countries in South and East Asia, Latin America, Northern and Sub-Saharan Africa, Eurasia and Europe.

Many IDD staff operate in the dual role of project consultant and academic, so all consultancy work is guided by the latest thinking in the field. IDD lists many of the contemporary pressing issues in development under its areas of expertise:

  • Evaluation of governance and public management reforms
  • Democratisation and political reform
  • Conflict, state failure and reconstruction
  • Corruption, aid effectiveness and financial management
  • Decentralisation and local governance
  • Social and human aspects of development

Our Projects Office is staffed by a dedicated team who provides a comprehensive support service in project logistics and administration, financial management and marketing services to clients and the department.
